Outlook
The Wheaton Thunder enter the 2005 CCIW Women's Soccer Tournament with a perfect 7-0-0 conference record. The defending national champions, Wheaton has won at least a share of the conference title every season dating back to when the CCIW began sponsoring women's soccer in 1995.

Wheaton won the national title over Pudget Sound last season, the Thunder's first in women's soccer.

In the latest National Soccer Coaches Association/Adidas rankings, Wheaton comes into the conference tournament with a national ranking of six, while Illinois Wesleyan is 21st.
