Heath, Peterson Earn CCIW Soccer Player of the Week Honors

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Isaac Heath of Wheaton and Kristin Peterson of Millikin were named College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Men’s & Women’s Soccer Players of the Week for their performances during the past week of competition.

Heath, a senior from Stone Mountain, Ga., played a part in both of Wheaton’s goals in a 2-0 victory against Augustana last Friday. He gave the Thunder a 1-0 lead 42:43 into the match when he scored his first goal of the year. Wheaton secured the victory with a goal late in the match, that was assisted by Heath.

Peterson, a senior from Decatur, Ill., helped Millikin improve to 5-4 overall, 1-0 in the CCIW by scoring the game-winning goal over North Central in double overtime. It was her third goal of the week, while two others came in Millikin’s 11-0 win over Rockford earlier in the week. Her first goal at Rockford was also the game-winner. The Big Blue have now posted three back-to-back shutouts (for the first time in school history) and won four straight.
