Santella, Roberts Earn CCIW Soccer Player of the Week Honors

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Brian Santella of Carthage and Tessa Roberts of Augustana were named College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Men’s & Women’s Soccer Players of the Week for their performances during the past week of competition.

Roberts, a sophomore forward from St. Charles, Ill., has scored five goals in her first four games as Augustana is off to a 4-0 start. Last week she scored the first goal of the game in a 3-0 win over Wartburg on September 6. She added a goal in a 5-0 win at Lakeland on September 10 and then scored again in a 2-0 win at Concordia on September 11. For the week she scored three goals as the Vikings outscored their opponents 10-0.

Santella, a sophomore forward from Wauconda, Ill., collected a hat trick by scoring all three of the Redmen’s goals in a 3-0 win over St. Mary’s University (Minn.) on Sept. 10. Santella also scored the game’s opening goal the next day in a 2-0 victory over Carroll College (Wis.).
