Belrichard, Brehm Earn CCIW Soccer Player of the Week Honors
NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Brittany Belrichard of Millikin and Jon Brehm of Elmhurst were named soccer players of the week in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Tuesday after their performances during competition the past week.
Belrichard, a freshman midfielder/forward from Sycamore, Ill., and Sycamore High School, scored the game-winning goal in double-overtime in Millikin’s 3-2 win over Illinois Wesleyan on October 3. It was Millikin’s first-ever win over the Titans. In the game, Belrichard tallied a goal and two assists. Her goal brought her back up to a tie of the school season record (11) and she is also currently tied for the season points record (26).
Brehm, a freshman midfielder/forward from Sinking Spring, Pa., and Wilson High School, scored four goals and recorded two assists while leading the Bluejays to a pair of CCIW wins last week. On Wednesday, he scored a goal in the Bluejays’ 4-0 win at North Central. On Saturday, he had a hand in all five of the Bluejays’ goals in a 5-0 win over Augustana. Brehm became just the second player in the program’s history to net a hat trick by scoring three goals. He also added assists on the two remaining goals, setting an Elmhurst record for points in a game with eight.
