Kelly, Bauer Named CCIW Volleyball Players of the Week
NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Jackie Peterson of Carthage and Jake Pahr of Elmhurst were named soccer players of the week in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Tuesday after their performances during competition the past week.
Peterson, a junior forward/midfielder from Schaumburg, Ill., and Schaumburg High School, scored two goals in the Lady Reds’ 3-2 upset of No. 16 Chicago on Sept. 22 in Kenosha, Wis. Earlier in the week, she assisted on both Carthage goals in a 2-1 non-conference victory over St. Ambrose on Sept. 19 in Kenosha.
Pahr, a sophomore forward from Cary, Ill., and Cary-Grove High School, has helped guide the Bluejays to a 7-1-1 overall record. On Wednesday, Pahr finished with three points, totaling an assist and the game-tying goal in a 3-2 come-from-behind win over Concordia University (Wis.). Pahr added a goal in Sunday’s 5-0 shutout win over Millikin where the Bluejays outshot the Big Blue 26-1. For the season, Pahr leads the Bluejays in goals (six) and points (16), while co-leading the team in assists (four).
