NSCA, D3Kicks.com Announces Preseason Top 25

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- The National Soccer Coaches Association announced its preseason top 25 on Friday for both the men and the women. In addition, the NCAA Division III soccer website, D3Kicks.com recently announced its preseason top 25.

The Wheaton women, which won the national championship in 2004, earned a No. 6 ranking in the NSCA poll, while the Wheaton men were 22nd.

The Wheaton women were again ranked high in the D3Kicks.com poll, earning the No. 3 spot and receiving one first place vote. Illinois Wesleyan earned a spot in the "others receiving votes" category, earning four votes. On the men's list, Wheaton earned a spot at No. 13.

The poll was conducted by 23 anonymously selected SIDs from across the country and the two creators of D3Kicks.com. Each voter got 25 votes, with a first place vote being worth 25 points, a second place vote being worth 24 points, etc. The 25 teams that received the most points were included in the Top 25 Poll.

The CCIW soccer season begins September 1.
