Carthage, Wheaton earn ncaa women's soccer tournament berths
NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Wheaton and Carthage will each represent the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) in the NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament this season as both were selected to the field of 60 teams.
Wheaton, 22-0-0 this season (7-0-0 in the CCIW), will host a second round game on Saturday, Nov. 10 at 6 p.m. after earning a first round bye. The Thunder will face the winner of the St. Scholastica/Carroll game to be held on Nov. 9. Wheaton earned the conference's automatic bid to the tournament after winning the CCIW Tournament title Saturday.
Carthage, 15-4-1 this season (5-1-1 in the CCIW), travels to Eau Claire, Wis., Friday, Nov. 9 to face Concordia-Moorehead. Game time is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Carthage earned a Pool C bid after finishing second in the conference standings this season.
