2004 PRESEASON WOMEN'S SOCCER POLL
ROCK ISLAND, Illinois – Wheaton College has won 10 straight College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin women’s soccer championships and according to the coaches in the league, the Thunder will make it 11 in a row this fall. Head coach Pete Felske’s team went 16-2-4 overall and was 6-1 in the regular season a year ago. The Thunder tied with Illinois Wesleyan, also 6-1, for first place in the regular season and then beat Augustana 1-0 in the championship game to seal the league title.
Wheaton picked up 48 points and six first place votes in the pre-season voting. Illinois Wesleyan, which ended up 12-3-4, was second with 44 points with two first place votes. Augustana, 11-7-3 & 4-2-1 in 2003, is in third place with 36 points while Elmhurst (12-6-3 & 5-2) is fourth with 31 points. Carthage (11-7-1 & 2-4-1) recorded 26 points for fifth place. Millikin (4-8-4 & 1-4-2) is in sixth with 18, North Park (7-10-2 & 1-4-2) had 14 points in seventh and North Central (3-15-0 & 0-7) tallied seven points in eighth.

Voting is done by the women's soccer coaches in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin.Each coach votes for the seven other schools in the league in order of predicted finish.Points are assigned in reverse order of voting (seven points for first, six for second, etc.).Coaches may not vote for his/her own team.
