Fikic, Binger Earn CCIW Soccer Player of the Week Honors

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Elvis Fikic of North Park and Jen Binger of Wheaton were named College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Men’s & Women’s Soccer Players of the Week for their performances during the past week of competition.

Fikic, a freshman from Chicago, scored two game-winning goals in North Park’s dual victories last week. Against Millikin, he scored the game-winner in overtime, giving the Vikings a 2-1 victory. Against UW-Platteville, he scored the team’s second goal to lead North Park to a 3-1 non-conference win. Fikic leads North Park in total goals with 12.

Binger, a senior all-American from Belvidere, Ill., helped lead Wheaton to a 3-0 record last week by scoring three goals, including two that were game-winners. Binger scored the game-winning goal in Wheaton’s 2-0 win at University of Redlands (ranked 21st in NSCAA Poll at the time) last Monday. On Saturday Binger broke a 1-1 tie in Wheaton’s critical CCIW game at Illinois Wesleyan (ranked 21st in NSCAA Poll at the time) by scoring two goals in a two-minute span late in the match. The first goal of the pair was eventually the game-winner.
