Hunka, Daly Earn CCIW Soccer Player of the Week Honors

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Tom Hunka of Elmhurst and Michelle Daly of North Central were named College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Men’s & Women’s Soccer Players of the Week for their performances during the past week of competition.

Hunka, a sophomore from Lake Zurich, Ill., scored a pair of goals while leading the Bluejays to a pair of victories last week. He scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in the Bluejays’ 3-0 win over Benedictine University on September 14. On Friday, Hunka broke a 2-2 tie with the game-winner in the 86th minute against Edgewood. Hunka leads the Bluejays with five goals this season.

Daly, a sophomore from Oswego, Ill., scored four goals and had two assists in three victories for the Cardinals (4-2). The forward scored two goals in a 3-2 win over Dominican, then added two more goals and an assist in a 4-1 win over Rockford. Then, in the championship game of North Central’s Sal Vaccaro Tournament, Daly notched an assist in the Cardinals’ 2-1 win over Mount Mercy.
