Lee, Connor Named Soccer Players of the Week
NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Taryne Lee of Wheaton and Andy Connor of Carthage were named soccer players of the week in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Tuesday after their performances during the previous week of competition.
Lee, a freshman forward from St. Charles, Ill., helped lead Wheaton to a pair of victories last week as she scored four goals and added two assists. Last Wednesday she netted her first collegiate hat trick with three goals in a 5-1 victory at North Park. Last Friday the Thunder shut out Aurora 5-0 as Lee added one goal, the game-winner, and two assists.
Connor, a sophomore goal keeper from Lake Zurich, Ill., had a pair of shutouts last week in conference action. Connor had two saves in a 2-0 win over Millikin on Oct. 4 and six saves in a 0-0 double-overtime tie against North Park on Oct. 7.
