Peterson, Gyuricza Named Soccer Players of the Week
NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Jacqueline Peterson of Carthage and Jordan Gyuricza of North Park were named soccer players of the week in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Tuesday after their performances during the previous week of competition.
Peterson, a sophomore from Schaumburg, Ill., collected four goals and an assist in two games last week. Peterson scored the first goal in the Lady Reds’ 2-0 win at Lake Forest on Sept. 27, and she totaled three goals and an assist in an 8-0 win over St. Norbert College on Oct. 1.
Gyuricza, a junior from Palatine, Ill., scored three goals this past week as North Park went 2-1. He scored two against CCIW foe North Central and then the game-winner against UW Oshkosh, raising his team leading total to 9 goals on the season.
