Illinois Wesleyan Makes Second Straight Trip to NCAA Championships
NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- For the second straight season and fourth time in school history, the Illinois Wesleyan women's golf team will be heading to the NCAA Division III Championships.
The 2006 championships will be held on May 9-12 at the Mission Inn Golf and Tennis Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida, hosted by Oglethorpe University and the Central Florida Sports Commission. The championships will feature 10 teams. Joining Illinois Wesleyan are Allegheny, Methodist, DePauw, Southwestern (Texas), UW-Eau Claire, Gustavus Adolphus, Wartburg, Hardin-Simmons and Mary Hardin-Baylor.
The Titans, winners of the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) tournament in the fall, will be making their fourth appearance in the championships after finishing eighth last season, 10th in 2002 and sixth in 2000.
Representing the Titans will be seniors Ashley Higginson and Megan
Teschner, junior Alison Mayer and sophomores Kristi Katz and Taylor
Paskell.
