Illinois Wesleyan Takes Home Sixth Straight CCIW Women’s Golf Title
DECATUR, Ill. -- For the sixth straight season, Illinois Wesleyan walked away with the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) title in women’s golf, winning Saturday with a two-day score of 628 at Red Tail Run Golf Club.
Wheaton finished second with a score of 661, while Millikin was third (665). Augustana (678), North Central (679), Carthage (679), Elmhurst (733) and North Park (822) rounded out the team scoring. With the team championship, Illinois Wesleyan earns the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Championship held next spring.
North Central’s Alyssa Gaudio placed first and earned the individual title with a two-day score of 153 (+9), while Illinois Wesleyan’s Alessandra Bollero was second with a score of 154 (+10). In third place was Augustana’s Rachel Gahn who carded a 156 (+12), while Kristi Katz of Illinois Wesleyan was fourth with a score of 158 (+14). Shanna Agner of Carthage was fifth with a score of 159 (+15).
In sixth was Erica Woodall of Illinois Wesleyan, who carded a score of 160 (+16), while Kayleen Giffor of Millikin and Nicole Spear of Illinois Wesleyan tied for seventh, each with scores of 161 (+17). Brittany Hassee of Millikin was ninth, shooting a two-day round of 164 (+20), while Wendy Woudenberg of Wheaton was 10th with a score of 165 (+21) to round out the medalist winners.
