CCIW Names Spencer, Schaults Football Players of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Tyke Spencer of North Central and Tom Schaults of Augustana were named College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Football Players of the Week for their performances Saturday, Oct. 15.

Spencer, a senior wide receiver from Naperville, Ill., had six catches for 110 yards and two touchdowns in North Central’s 43-24 victory over Carthage Saturday. Spencer’s two touchdowns tied his own single-season record of 20, which he set last year. His catches were of 17 and 24 yards.

Schaults, senior linebacker from Chicago, Ill., recorded five solo and eight assists to lead the Vikings in tackles during a 41-15 win over Illinois Wesleyan Saturday. He had 51/2 tackles for losses of 29 yards and 2 1/2 quarterback sacks for 22 yards. Augustana held the Titans to 255 yards of total offense (145 rushing and 110 passing).

CCIW football continues its season on Saturday, October 22 as Augustana travels to Millikin, while Carthage hosts North Park. North Central travels to Elmhurst, while Wheaton plays at Illinois Wesleyan.
