North Central Sweeps Football Player of the Week Honors

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Eric Stuedemann, Eric Schmidt and Joe Rubin of North Central were named football players of the week in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Sunday.

Stuedemann, a senior receiver from Tinley Park, Ill., had nine catches for a career-high 163 yards and one touchdown in North Central’s 47-21 win over Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound Stuedemann had his only touchdown (10th of the year) catch of 17 yards nine seconds before halftime to help the Cardinals lead 33-7 at the break.

Schmidt, a junior defensive lineman from Willow Grove, Penn., had four tackles and three sacks for a loss of 19 yards in North Central’s win over Illinois Wesleyan, while Rubin, a sophomore from Roselle, Ill., had a 65-yard punt return against the Titans and also returned a kickoff for 10 yards.

The regular season concludes in the CCIW next Saturday, November 11 as Carthage hosts North Central and Augustana travels to Millikin. Wheaton plays host to Illinois Wesleyan, while Elmhurst travels to North Park.
