four from cciw named preseason football all-americans

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Four College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) football student-athletes recently earned preseason all-America status by Lindy’s Sports and The Sporting News publications.
 
Augustana offensive lineman Blaine Westemeyer (Overland Park, Kan./Blue Valley NW), Elmhurst linebacker Randy Wright (Bellwood, Ill./Fenwick) and North Central linebacker Matt Wenger (Davis, Ill./Dakota) were named preseason all-Americans by The Sporting News and first team preseason all-Americans by Lindy's Sports.  North Central offensive lineman Kyle Antos (Warrenville, Ill./Wheaton-Warrenville South) was named to the second team by Lindy's Sports. Lindy's Sports also named Wenger the Preseason Division III Defensive Player of the Year.

In addition, North Central was ranked third in the Lindy's Sports Preseason Division III Top 25 Poll as well as eighth in the preseason rankings from The Sporting News. Wheaton earned the No. 19 ranking by The Sporting News.

All four student-athletes earned all-conference honors in the CCIW last season. Wenger was named the Don Larson Defensive Player of the Year while leading the Cardinals to a 7-0 record in conference play last season.
