Six from cciw named preseason all-americans by d3football.com

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Six football student-athletes from the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) were recently named preseason all-Americans by D3Football.com.

Defending conference champion North Central led the way with four players after finishing 11-1 (7-0 in the CCIW) last season.

North Central quarterback Aaron Fanthorpe (Naperville, Ill./North), Augustana offensive tackle Blaine Westemeyer (Overland Park, Kan./Blue Valley Northwest), Elmhurst linebacker Randy Wright (Bellwood, Ill./Fenwick), and North Central linebacker Matt Wenger (Davis, Ill./Dakota) were named to the first team. North Central offensive guard Kyle Antos (Warrenville, Ill./Wheaton-Warrenville South) and North Central defensive back Derek Sulo (Oak Forest, Ill./Mt. Carmel) were named to the second team.

Fanthorpe was named the Art Keller Offensive Player of the Year in the CCIW last season while teammate Wenger earned Don Larson Defensive Player of the Year honors. Five of the six players named to the D3Football Preseason All-America team earned first team all-conference honors in 2008.
