North central lone cciw team in ncaa division iii football championship

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- North Central, fresh off its second straight College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) football championship, will travel to Franklin (Ind.) College on Saturday, Nov. 17 for an 11 a.m. (CST) kick-off of the first round of the NCAA Division III Football Championship.

The Cardinals will be the only representative of the CCIW after earning the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.

North Central is currently on a five-game winning streak after finishing 8-2 this season (6-1 in the CCIW). The Cardinals and Illinois Wesleyan both finished 6-1 in CCIW play this season to both earn a share of the conference title. North Central earned the automatic bid due to its 23-7 win over Illinois Wesleyan on Nov. 3.
