Five CCIW Football Players Named to D3football.com Preseason Team
NAPERVILLE, Ill. – D3football.com announced its Preseason All-America Team Tuesday, and five College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin student-athletes were named as members of this year’s squad.
Eric Esch from Illinois Wesleyan, Lenny Radtke from North Central, Brandon Fox from Carthage and Mike Zeifert from Augustana were named to the first team, while Andy Brogan of Elmhurst was a second-team pick.
Esch, a junior return specialist from Bloomington, Ill., was second in the nation last season in punt returns with a 20.6-yard average, including two returns for touchdowns. He was a member of the CCIW All-Conference First Team in 2004 and is a D3football.com All-American.
Zeifert is a three-year letterwinner from Waukegan, Ill., while Fox, a native of Elk Grove, Ill., finished tied atop the CCIW in interceptions last season with eight. Radtke, a native of Carol Stream, was third in the conference in tackles in 2004 with 98 including 54 solo.
Brogan, also a native of Carol Stream, played in nine games last season with eight starting assignments. He hauled in 30 catches for 285 yards and two touchdowns.
