2002 CCIW FOOTBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

ROCK ISLAND, Illinois – Wheaton College won the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin football title with a convincing 38-14 victory over Augustana on Saturday, November 16 at McCully Field in Wheaton, Illinois. The win clinched just the second NCAA Division III playoff spot in school history for the Thunder and runningback Dan Price and defensive end Jeff Darnauer were selected as the CCIW's "Players of the Week" for their efforts.

Price scored a pair of touchdowns and rushed for 83 yards on 19 carries against a Viking defense that was the number one ranked unit in the conference prior to the game.

Darnauer was a pain to the Vikings offense all day, recording eighth total tackles, six solo and one quarterback hurry. Wheaton limited Augustana to just 146 yards of total offense, including only 23 in the second half.
