Carthage, Wheaton Named to D3football.com Preseason Top 25

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Two College Conference Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin schools will begin the 2005 football season as members of the top 25 in the nation as D3football.com placed Carthage at No. 13 and Wheaton at No. 20 in its annual Preseason Top 25 poll.

The poll is determined by a panel of 25 coaches, sports information directors and media members across the country and is published weekly during the season.

Carthage, which finished 11-2 in 2004, received 261 points, while Wheaton, which earned a 10-2 record last season, tallied a total of 147 points. Also receiving points were Augustana with 75 and North Central with 14.

The CCIW football season begins September 3.
